As you may be aware, Good Life Books (GLB) closed on Friday February 29th. This was a difficult but necessary decision to make but the directors felt that this was the best course of action at this time.

For several years GLB has been struggling to cover its costs. The main reason for this is the location of the shop.

We have long realised that the future of GLB lies in a more central location and as part of a collective Christian High Street presence. We are thrilled to be part of the plans and discussions for a “Christian Centre” in Halifax which are taking place. We had hoped that the bookshop could survive in its current location until these plans were realised but this has not proved to be the case. Instead we hope that the bookshop will “resurrect” at some future point.

For nearly 2 years GLB has been working closely with Christian Books Huddersfield. We plan to maintain these links in order to continue to provide a service for the churches and Christians in Calderdale.

If you have a regular “Church Order” or have a regular customer order, these will continue to be supplied via the Huddersfield shop. If you wish to place an order, you can place this with the Huddersfield shop and we will arrange to deliver it for you.
